Staff were friendly (but I couldn't understand what one was saying) Restaurant and food(breakfast) - lovely Room very nice but too warm

The Bull is a very comfortable hotel, breakfast buffet was excellent and the atmosphere was laid back. I would certainly like to visit again.

Was surprised to hear room service/cleaning knocking on our door at 9.15a.m. on the second morning of our stay. I would have thought that staff would have a list of guests who were staying on and therefore not necessary for cleaning to be carried out at such an early hour.

The lady who checked me kindly changed my room from ground floor to the second floor, but I was not asked whether I would like help with my bags. On check out, I was processed without hardly any communication from the clerk, I was even asked if I had a nice stay. I think overall on this occassion it was quite poor customer service.

I stayed at the Bull a few times over the last couple of years. The lack of air conditioning is the worst thing about the hotel.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Jose Maria in the restaurant deserves special mention for highly professional service.

  • Group of friends

Pleasant staff and surroundings- comfortable room / public areas / garden. Close to plenty of areas of interest: Windsor, National Trust properties, picturesque villages/countryside.

Food isn't great and is expensive. Cooked breakfast on the first morning was inedible-obviously been standing for hours. Breakfast was never a relaxed experience- food hastily removed on the dot of 9.30!

Food was excellent and the staff attentive. The gardens provided a natural extension of the conservatory dining area.

    he location and garden settings.

On our 1st night we were allocated a room above the Thames suite, and we read there may be some background music, this was not a problem,.We did experience the mosted distributive of nights we have had in a hotel from 9.40pm until 1.15am due to the over spill of 10-40 party clients continually leaving the function room and coming into the car park some 3mts below our room for smoking/drinking thoughout the evening. When the function finished and the revellers finally despersed the desturbance continued from a service door below our room by staff moving beer kegs and furnature in and out until 5.15 am.At 7.45 we did seek the duty manager and ask if there was to be a function party during our 2nd evening stay, the answer was yes and said we would be leaving the hotel immediately before breakfast as we could not endure another desturbed night. The duty manager was very understanding of the situation and after polite discussions we were offered a room in a quite part of the hotel,we relocated to the new room immediately went for beakfast and continued with our stay.If we returned to the Bull again we would certainly look at the room allocation position before booking.

The Bull was nice hotel with a mixture modern and old blended in throughout the hotel. All the staff that we spoke to were very pleasant. The room was a bit cramped even though we booked a superior room as we expected extra room. The hotel was very busy with a Wedding on although this didn't affect our stay other than breakfast time.On the whole we would stay again.

Recieved an email whilst we were away saying that our room wouldn't be big enough for a an extra bed and a cot but see this until we arrived home. Booked well in advance so they could of notified us earlier and wanted to charge us an extra £40 although there was no mention of this when we arrived and we pay an extra £40. Didn't rate the breakfast, poor choice and very busy. Staff looked confused as to what they are doing next. Hot buffet breakfast items were running quickly and there were long waits for replacements. Breakfast needs to improve

Very clean, great staff - breakfast wasn't very filling but we'd been to a wedding where food was incredible and service impeccable.

    Breakfast not v substantial

  • Older travelers

The staff in the hotel were courteous and polite, the room was great, facilities super.

The restaurant lets the Bull down, the self service is difficult and time consuming, the staff who cleared tables dropped items on the floor and failed to pick them up, sadly a large family were celebrating a child's birthday and that was a noisy experience at breakfast time. The restaurant did not appear to be in keeping with the rest of the Old World look of the Bull which was otherwise lovely.

  • Older travelers

Nice, clean, spacious room. Upmarket village location; quiet and with a rural environment. Homely, cosy feel to the public rooms. Ample car parking. Close to Gerrard's Cross railway station with easy links to Wembley Stadium and London Marylebone.

Extremely poor service at breakfast. For example, there was no cups on the table, no bowls, no fruit, we were not offered tea or coffee, no sugar on the table. We seemed to spend the whole time asking for missing items when really somebody should have been monitoring what needed replacing. Staff seemed to be under pressure and completely disorganised, spending most of their time in the kitchen rather than attending to the needs of the customers.

  • Group of friends

Only a 5min taxi to the train station for London so very convienient. The stay was excellent valve with a great breakfast. Rooms comfortable with a good bar area in the lounge that stayed open till late.

Had to walk a long way from reception to the room - up lifts along winding corriders through many fire doors etc. No air con in room so was hot in July. Booked 2 twin rooms but only 1 was actually reserved when we checked in. Offered 1 twin and a double eventually and that was fine but requested ajoining rooms and they were far from it!!!

  • Group of friends
    7.4

Very quiet and comfortable in a country setting. Nice courtyard in which to spend time sitting out in the evening. Great lounge area for drinks with friends. Within walking distance of town shops and restaurants. Short drive or train ride to London. Not too far from several areas of interest. Very accomodating staff.

Breakfast was included but the same every day. Although the meals in the upscale restaurant were very good, the quality of the service in the restaurant was very disappointing. The bar and pub served smaller meals with better service.

  • Older travelers
    9.2

Very pleasant staff who made you feel welcome. A nicely decorated hotel with good facilities and comfortable rooms overlooking very nice gardens. Food was excellent and reasonable on price. Great as a stop over for visiting London.
